Dodgy station
Easy access to Banks's Stadium (Walsall FC) from this station including a train ticket office and departure monitors.
A small railway station near to the Banks Stadium which is the home of Walsall football club. A short walk to the football ground over a foot bridge and under the M6. It is about 300metres to the ground. A small shelter on each platform plus additional seating. Regular services to Walsall and Birmingham New Street, approx 3 per hour. Also services to Wolverhampton.
Pretty shocking station all round for this day and age.Free parking but no wheelchair access to get to the other platform. You need to go up and down a load of stairs which would also be extremely difficult for pram access and then there isn't very much shelter from the rain either.
I use the station alot when I goto work, the good thing about the station is that the carpark is free to park, it's ideal as it's opposite Walsall football ground and the park Inn hotel, however, there's no access for disabled passengers, the ticket office is closed all day on a Tuesday, Thursday and a Sunday, the other days, it's only open for a few hours. Also, there isn't much covered area on the platform when it's raining. When Walsall FC are playing at home, it's great for fans to get to the ground, unless you have reduced mobility and use a wheelchair.
